Step-by-Step Portal Guide
How to Book on the Official Govt Portal
- Go to the official Rajasthan Single Sign-On portal (sso.rajasthan.gov.in) or the Forest Department portal (fmdss.forest.rajasthan.gov.in).
- Create a basic citizen login or proceed to “Advanced Safari Booking”.
- Select “Jaipur – Jhalana Leopard Reserve” from the reserve list.
- Enter passenger government photo ID details (Aadhaar, Voter ID, or Passport). The physical ID must match identically at the entry gate.
- Pay through the official NetBanking/UPI gateway and download the printed PDF permit with the QR code.
Zone & Track Comparison: Which Track to Request?
Jhalana operates primarily on tracked radial loops. When you arrive at the gate, drivers and nature guides are assigned by forest roster:
- Track 1 & Shikar Audi: Highest historical sighting frequency. Focuses on the historic three-story royal hunting lodge waterhole.
- Track 3: Rocky scrub ridge area. Exceptional for birding (spotted owlets, blue rock thrushes) and hyenas emerging from natural karst caves near dusk.
Gate Check-In Rule: Reach the main gate strictly 30 minutes before your shift slot. If your party is late, the Gypsy departs without refund, and seats cannot be transferred.
